India’s first space observatory, AstroSat, has completed 10 successful years of exploring the universe since its launch by ISRO in 2015. This powerful satellite has revealed the mysteries of black holes, distant galaxies, and even detected light from stars nearly 9 billion light-years away. What makes AstroSat special is its ability to study multiple wavelengths—from ultraviolet to X-rays—helping scientists observe supernovas, colliding galaxies, and neutron stars all at once. With over 3,400 researchers from 57 countries using its data, AstroSat has put India at the heart of global space science.
