Hyderabad’s new Police Commissioner V. C. Sajjanar has announced plans to integrate Artificial Intelligence (AI) into policing, including its use in investigations, drones for surveillance, and crime prevention. With AI adoption, the force aims to tackle challenges like cybercrime, drug trafficking, and financial fraud more effectively while improving citizen services and road safety. Sajjanar emphasized that "people’s welfare policing" will remain the top priority, with AI acting as a powerful tool to protect women, children, and senior citizens. This move places Hyderabad among the forward-looking Indian cities using tech to make policing smarter and safer.
